Faces in the sky

I lie on the forest green pastures,

The dew fresh and tickling my senses.

The air light and radiant

Of spring flowers distant and fragrant.

I lay down and look up,

Hoping to find something,anything.

“Oh look, it’s me,

Well a bad version of me”.

“Maybe it’s my brother,

With that same up-to-no-good look”.

Like a Broadway musical,

The melody flows in the air,

Making me reminisce the good ole days.

I get lost down the memory lane,

When suddenly I look up-

I see my grandma, with her elegant face,

A face that praised God,

A face that now lives in photographs,

A face that brings a smile on dad’s face,

A face that I never got to see,

But a face that now lives in me.
